The WA economy has been severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, with job losses and increased underemployment reducing consumer spending, business investment and the State’s income overall. We know we need to increase business and consumer confidence - and keep people in jobs - to make WA a prosperous State once again. Key to this will be supporting infrastructure projects and encouraging innovation and agility in businesses; and generating opportunities for increased skills, training and workforce development.

We want to hear your thoughts on the pandemic’s impact, and your ideas on what should be the priorities and actions to restore and grow our economy.

Greening Density - Liveable neighbourhoods

During Covid, nature and green spaces gained even more importance as they became havens for residents. Nature provided a chance to destress and feel a sense of connection to place. It is vital that we recognise and build on this, not just for the social benefits, but also for the environmental benefits. Currently we are not building in a future proof, liveable manner. The opportunity is here and now to change this direction and create beautiful habitats through better design and thinking....

Hybrid private/public transport to solve traffic congestion

The new tomorrow, post-covid, is an opportunity to revolutionize transport infrastructure. Single passenger vehicles feeding traffic congestion on our highways is a problem, with 5% of energy expended moving the passenger and 95% moving the vehicle, generating excess greenhouse gases. Building more roads is a temporary fix for traffic congestion. Public transport is an answer but social distancing is a new challenge. Imagine a new industry, providing jobs, with export potential to solve...

Free public transport OR Make public transport $1 per journey for all trips in Perth Metro Area.

Or if that is not feasible, charge a $1 flat fee for a 2 hour travel period anywhere in the Perth Metropolitan area.  Will ensure every household has equitable access to transport throughout the city.  Will assist in reduction of carbon emissions, and create a more suitable model for environmental sustainability to meet SDGs 2030. Sustainable transportation can enhance economic growth...
